to greater connection

Are you connected to your loved ones? A big problem with sleep-walking is that we often take our loved ones for granted. As a stay-at-home-mom, I realized that even though I was always with my kids, I wasn’t always WITH them. I was often frazzled, busy, and too distracted to really connect with them on a deep level.

Now that I’m awake, I’m still busy, but I realize how important it is to connect with my family each day. I can get on the floor and wrestle with my very active 6-year-old son and laugh at his corny knock-knock jokes. I can sip pretend tea with my 2-year-old daughter and enjoy her sweet giggles. I can greet my husband with a kiss when he gets home from work. I can prepare a nice dinner so we can eat together and talk about our day.

Connection is about moments.

My relationship with God is also an important part of feeling connected. When I’m connected to Him, I have clarity and vision. When I’m connected to Him I have more patience and gratitude. There are many ways you can connect with your Higher Power. Find some things that works for you. Spend some time outdoors. Pray. Meditate. Do yoga. Go to church. Read scripture.  If you’re already doing these things, maybe it’s time to take it to the next level.
