Kundalini Yoga (as taught by Yogi Bhajan) is known as the Yoga of Awareness. It is a 5,000-year old system of yoga and meditation that promotes health, happiness and awareness. It combines breathing, movement, stretching and sound.

The word “Yoga” comes from the Sanskrit word for “yoke” — meaning that we are “yoked” or united with our Higher Power. The word “Kundalini” refers to our Divine potential, which is coiled at the base of our spine. The coiling, (like a spring, or a snake) is our untapped potential energy- the DIVINE nature that we all carry within us. The goal of Kundalini yoga is to raise our consciousness, and tap into that Divine potential. When our Kundalini begins to rise we can feel an increase in our awareness, openness, love, gratitude and sense of purpose.

I have been practicing Kundalini meditation every day for nearly 4 years. (I’ve only missed about 3 days!)  I am a Christian, and have always been a spiritual person…  but Kundalini has totally transformed my life, and helped me feel even more connected to God. Kundalini has taught me to be calm and still— so I can hear His voice, and know Him better.

I am also more aware and present in my everyday life.  My mind is more clear. I feel greater joy and gratitude. I am a better wife, mother, sister and friend.
